 İZTAŞIT departs from Seferihisar. Privately owned transportation companies which usually serve with minibuses will be integrated into İzmir's public transportation network. The project is expected to be implemented in all surrounding districts of Izmir.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has signed an important project that will increase public transportation opportunities to the districts out of the city center. Privately owned transportation companies which usually serve with minibuses are included in Izmir's public transportation network. The first step of the project, which was carried out by the General Directorate of ESHOTstarted by introducing 28 new standardised vehicles in a ceremony held in Seferihisar.
Speaking at the ceremony, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer underlined that the project will be one of the cornerstones of the city's transportation history. "We bring more quality, higher standards and corporate identity to the public transportation service provided by cooperatives in the surrounding districts. Instead of old minibuses,  İZTAŞIT buses are equipped with the latest technology. The new busses which are comfortable, environmentally friendly, disabled-friendly, air-conditioned, camera-equipped and low-bottomed will get on the stages."
 
In the near future, in all surrounding districts
Mayor Soyer said that ”Public transportation services will be provided in all surrounding districts of Izmir in the near future within the scope of İZTAŞIT project. This service will be provided under the supervision of Eshot who has 76 years of experience in public transportation business. The private transportation companies will have corporate identity and prestige. More comfort will be provided to our citizens with more comfortable vehicles, working much more often. We will see that the waiting times of our citizens will be  very low. In addition, İZTAŞIT will serve neighborhoods where ESHOT buses weren’t able to go before, where only minibuses work. The fact that the vehicles are under ESHOT control will guarantee quality and corporate service."
 
Mayor Soyer reclaimed that;  the transport lines will not be sold by tender to any one. The real owners –the existing bus companies who carry our citizens will be supported. One of our main objectives is to increase prosperity throughout Izmir and to distribute this prosperity fairly to the whole city."
 
Seferihisar Mayor Ismail Adult said that they are proud of the Project which will be the turning point in the city transportation, and will start from Seferihisar. "We, as a municipality, will give all our support for the success of the project and the satisfaction of our citizens," the Mayor added.
 At the end of the ceremony, İZTAŞIT buses are put into service by cutting the ribbon. President Soyer, protocol members and citizens are  introduced with  İZTAŞIT by taking a tour of the city.
 Citizens and many private transportation companies of İzmir, CHP Izmir deputy Kani Beko, Seferihisar Mayor Ismail Adult, Bayraklı Mayor Serdar Sandal, Güzelbahçe Mayor Mustafa Ince and Menderes Mayor Mustafa Kayalar attended the ceremony.

 ESHOT made it suitable for public transport

Within the scope of the project, private transportation owners operating in Seferihisar in a scattered manner are gathered under one roof. The owners of the vehicles joined their forces to buy 28 uniform, new buses. The vehicles are prepared conveniently for public transportation in İnciraltı Garage of ESHOT General Directorate.

Electronic İzmirim Eshot Card Will be Used

İZTAŞIT services  will start from Seferihisar to İzmir on Sunday (December 29th). As with all public transportation vehicles, passengers will use the electronic İzmirim Kart". Departure times will be visible on ESHOT's website and the ESHOT app which can be installed on smartphones.
 Vehicles, drivers and management systems will be under the supervision of ESHOT. İztaşıt drivers will be trained regularly by ESHOT. Seferihisar-Ürkmez Transportation Cooperative (n.43 ) will follow the working Schedule of İztaşıt. The data of the fee collection devices (validators) to be installed on İZTAŞIT could be monitored by both the vehicle owners and the Information Processing Department of the General Directorate of ESHOT. The total amount of tickets per vehicle and free rides will be paid to the owners of the vehicles on a regular basis each month.

Frequent drives to each neighbourhood

Only İZTAŞIT buses will provide public transportation services on the Seferihisar-İzmir and Ürkmez-İzmir lines within Seferihisar. İZTAŞIT will go to every neighborhood and village . Existing ESHOT stops will also be used. The risks posed by minibuses in traffic will be quickly eliminated.

 It will spread to all district of the city

İZTAŞIT is aimed to serve  throughout the whole Peninsula in the near future, and then in all the surrounding districts of Izmir. Accordingly, the General Directorate of ESHOT continues to negotiate with the management of public transport cooperatives serving in the other districts

Frequent trips to each neighborhood

Only İZTAŞIT buses will provide public transportation services on seferihisar-izmir and Ürkmez-Izmir lines and within Seferihisar. There will be no neighborhoods where İZTAŞIT does not go to work frequently with their hours. The risks posed by vans in traffic will end. İZTAŞIT's will use the existing ESHOT stops. İZTAŞIT will serve on the following lines:

985 Seferihisar – F. Altay
986 Ürkmez - Seferihisar
987 Ürkmez – F. Altay
989 Orhanli – Seferihisar
990 Gentlemen – Seferihisar

Features of the new Vehicles

The eight-meter-long İZTAŞIT bus has a capacity of 60 passengers, 21 to be seated. Equipped with high technology, comfortable, Euro 6 emission-compliant, disabled-friendly, air-conditioned and low-bottom buses are also coherent with the fleet tracking system thanks to the GPRS device.
